The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation was created in 1944 by Conrad N. Hilton, who founded Hilton Hotels. Myriad USA, formerly King Baudouin Foundation United States, is the leading US intermediary for cross-border philanthropy. Part of the Myriad Alliance, a global network enabling borderless giving across the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong, Myriad USA hosts American Friends Funds for over 1,600 nonprofits worldwide. In 2025, Myriad facilitated a record $195 million in grants to 1,075 nonprofits across 103 countries. The American Friends Fund enables international organizations to receive tax-deductible donations from US-based donors without establishing their own 501(c)(3) entity.
The New Africa Fund
The New Africa Fund is a US 501(c)(3) public charity that supports local initiatives across Africa by providing primarily unrestricted funding to NGOs, community-based organizations, and social enterprises. Operating in more than twelve countries, The New Africa Fund evaluates organizations holistically, investing in institutional capacity, financial systems, and operational resilience. The Fund also runs the Africa Impact Fundraising Grant Program, a structured initiative that trains African organizations in fundraising, runs live fundraising challenges, and provides matching funds and fiscal sponsorship.

Usawa Agenda is a not-for-profit organization registered in Kenya that promotes systems change for education justice through research, innovation, and evidence-based stakeholder engagement. The name Usawa is Swahili for equity, reflecting the organization’s conviction that equity is the defining imperative of the education sector and of society at large. Usawa Agenda produces citizen-led assessments of learning outcomes, conducts foundational literacy and numeracy research, and engages policymakers, educators, and communities in data-informed dialogue to strengthen education governance and accountability.

Mizizi Elimu Afrika, formerly Zizi Afrique Foundation, is an African-led education systems transformation organization committed to ensuring that children and young people acquire the foundational skills, values, and agency they need to learn, live, and thrive. The name Mizizi, Swahili for roots, reflects the organization’s focus on strengthening the early foundations of learning. Operating at the intersection of evidence, policy, and practice, Mizizi Elimu Afrika works across curriculum, teacher preparation, assessment, quality assurance, and community engagement to build education systems that are responsive, inclusive, and sustainable. CCRDA (Local Host)
The Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Associations (CCRDA) is Ethiopia’s oldest and largest umbrella organization for civil society, established in 1973. With a membership of over 500 legally registered international and national civil society organizations, CCRDA provides coordination, capacity building, and advocacy support to organizations engaged in development, humanitarian response, and human rights across Ethiopia. Headquartered in Addis Ababa with regional chapters across six regions, CCRDA serves as the local host for the 10th East Africa Philanthropy Conference.
