 “With great enthusiasm and passion for gender justice activism, philanthropic advocacy and feminist grantmaking, Susan Asio is a pan African feminist, with over 13 years’ experience championing gender equality, women’s rights advocacy and feminist activism across a spectrum of gendered fields. Currently working as the Senior Programme Officer – taking lead on Economic Justice work at Urgent Action Fund–Africa. Susan demonstrates enriching expertise that has propelled the work and gains of African Women Human Rights Defenders and movements to counter patriarchy and facilitate feminist models that respond to the complex social-economic impediments to women’s agency and autonomy in the constantly rapid and changing contexts of feminist advocacy and rights activism. Susan holds a Masters of Science Degree in Development Management from The Open University in the United Kingdom, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Conflict and Development from The Open University in the United Kingdom, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Gender Equality Studies from the University of Iceland, and a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Uganda Christian University.”
